 Out and About

There are many places of interest in the surrounding areas including :

 

*  Sandy beaches at Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea

    Other beaches at Cley, Salthouse and Weybourne

 

 Muckleburgh Collection (Military Museum) at Weybourne 

 

*  The Dinosaur Adventure Park at Lenwade, near Norwich

 

*  Steam trains on the: Holt-Sheringham Poppy Line

                                           Wells-Walsingham Light Railway

 

*  Norwich is only a 45 minute drive and is a great place to visit with its castle, museums, open air market, theatre, cinema and shops

       

*  Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Oxburgh Hall are all National Trust properties and are easily accessible from Blakeney. Much of the land along the coast also belongs

to the National Trust as does Sheringham Park, which is well-known for its beautiful display at rhododendron time  

 

*  The Priory, at Little Walsingham, has a wonderful show of snowdrops in February   

 

*  Sandringham House, Holkham Hall, Mannington Hall Gardens and Wolterton Hall Gardens are all private properties open to the public

 

*  Pensthorpe Nature Reserve and Gardens, Titchwell Marsh Reserve (RSPB) and Cley Marsh Reserve (NWT) are wonderful for those with any interest in birds

 

*  There are many lovely walks in the area - along the Coastal Path, Holt Country Park, Roman Camp at West Runton and many more

 

*  A short walk through the National Trust land in Blakeney takes you to Wiveton Hall shop and café to have a coffee, a meal or to buy fresh fruit and vegetables

 

*  A variety of shops in Blakeney, Holt, Fakenham, Sheringham, Cromer, Kings Lynn, Norwich and many other towns and villages

 

*  A very large selection of pubs and restaurants from which to choose in the

surrounding areas
